What we keep about a trip

When you plan a trip we save the choices you made (cities, trip length, month or start date, who is travelling, pace, budget and interests) and the itinerary we wrote, under a random link. Anyone with that link can view the trip.

If you add a note in “Anything else?”, we use it only to plan your trip. It is not saved.

What stays on your device

Your browser keeps a list of the trips you planned here and a private key that lets this browser change them. It also keeps a random visitor number so we can count visits. You can clear all of this in your browser settings at any time.

Usage statistics

We record how the planner is used: pages viewed, buttons used (including partner links), how long plans take to write, page speed, your country, and your device type and browser family. Your IP address is not stored.

These statistics are kept in our own database. We don’t use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

Where your data is processed

Trips and statistics are stored in Japan (Tokyo). To write your itinerary, your trip choices and a list of candidate places are sent to our AI provider in the United States; nothing that identifies you is sent. When maps are shown, Google Maps receives standard request information.

Under Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information, we disclose that data may be handled in South Korea and the United States, where Globaleur operates and where our AI processing takes place.

Partner links

Links to Japan Bullet Train and Japan Wireless take you to those sites, where their own privacy policies apply. We record that the link was used, not anything you do on their site.

Questions and deletion

To ask us to delete a shared trip, or with any question about this notice, contact Globaleur at sales@globaleur.com and include the trip’s link.
